The Spooky Harvest Festival was a huge success. On the last Friday afternoon before half-term break, the children not only enjoyed a small party that included fancy dress, apple bobbing and face painting, the PTA raised £429.00 for the school. A huge thanks to all parents who donated baked goods for the cake sale, volunteered to man the stalls and all who contributed simply by attending. In addition, the Harvest Festival collection raised 110.3 kg of donations. The Islington Foodbank has asked to pass on a big thanks to everyone involved. The PTA is delighted to announce that this December we will be sending all the children of Newington Green on “a swashbuckling adventure on the high seas” with Peter Pan, Captain Hook and Tinkerbell. Hurricane Productions is coming 6th December to perform the Christmas panto Peter Pan in the great hall. We are very grateful to Carmel Old, the head of literacy, and our PTA members for organising and funding this performance. More events to look forward to this autumn term are a movie night, a Christmas fair, and some after-school cake and hot chocolate sales. If you’d like to pop along to a PTA meeting, we usually meet twice a month on Friday mornings at 9:15 a.m., and the next one is scheduled for 9th November. Other ways to help the PTA are to join our email list, volunteer for events or offer up your professional skills. Once again, thanks to everyone, and we’re all looking forward to an enjoyable run up to Christmas.
