The Summer Reading Challenge takes place in your local library and is about encouraging children aged 4-11 to keep up their reading over the long break. We hope parents and carers will help us to encourage their children to take part and be positive about their child’s reading.
Every year there’s a different theme and this year’s is Space Chase. Children simply join at the local library, read 6 books between July and mid September, collect stickers and mini- prizes and if they finish, get a certificate, a medal and a chance to win a special prize!
Last year over 1,000 children finished and lots of parents said how effective the Challenge was at keeping their child’s reading on course…and how much fun they had! And it’s totally free to take part!
While you’re in the library, why not take part in one of our fun summer events. Look out for posters or see our events listed on www.hoop.co.uk
